The announcement happened earlier today when the Italian exotic-car manufacturer shared its plans for the decade.
"The full Lamborghini road-car range will be plug-in hybrids by 2024," CEO Stephan Winkelmann announced at an event today.
In other words, as Car and Driver emphasized in their reporting of this news today, "The plan means that the last Lamborghini road car to be powered exclusively with a combustion engine will be made before the end of 2024."
So, come 2025, Lamborghini's Huracán and its yet-unnamed replacement for the Aventador will use electrically powered front axles complementing the rear-engines the manufacturer is known for.
Fast forward five more years to 2030. Lamborghini promises its first all-electric supercar.
