As such, it will be the first production vehicle to ever be built at the famous facility.
GM is renovating the facility including purchasing and installing the necessary equipment to hand-build the battery-powered luxury sedan. $81 million dollars is earmarked for the renovation.
As Cadillac’s future flagship sedan, Celestiq signifies a new, resurgent era for the brand,” said General Motors president Mark Reuss. “Each one will be hand-built by an amazing team of craftspeople on our historic Technical Center campus, and today’s investment announcement emphasizes our commitment to delivering a world-class Cadillac with nothing but the best in craftsmanship, design, engineering and technology.”
Pricing is expected to start at around $200,000, which will likely make it the most-expensive Cadillac model ever offered. (Source: GMauthority.com)
GM has not yet released photography of the production vehicle. For that, we'll all have to wait for its official debut at the end of July.
