100-Year-Old Granny Gets Her Birthday Wish in a Red Hot Corvette
When Audrey Matheson was old enough to get her driver's license, gas was 20 cents a gallon and 1938 Cadillac Fleetwood would have set her $3,535, a princely amount that could have bought her six brand-new Chevrolets.

After 100 years of seeing automotive progress, granny Audrey had one more wish she wanted to see come true - a full-throttle joy ride in a C8 Corvette.

It had to be red.

To the rescue came her local Corvette club and Navy vet Jim Dunkelberger, who picked Audrey up from a nursing home in his Torch Red Stingray.

After the thrill of a lifetime and a wait of 100 years, Audrey's wish came true.

“I’m a bit shaken up, it’s been quite a day,” she told her local news station. “Thank you everyone so much. My heart is definitely full.”

Congratulations, Audrey! If you want a ride in a Hellcat for your 101st birthday, we'd love for you to strap yourself in!
