Should Chevy Build An El Camino Based on the Camaro?
Sometimes a manufacturer needs a nudge to build something cool.

In this case, we're talking about an El Camino based on the fifth-gen Camaro platform.

GMAuthority.com has been following this build for sometime and we think they're on to something.

Dubbed the El Camaro, "The customer also insisted on creating something GM might build today, rather than settle for something that looked like a custom build."

Powered by a LS3 V8 engine and manual transmission, "the fuel tank was left in the factory position, while the bed is a relatively short 4-feet by 5-feet. The trunk and backseat of the Chevy Camaro were tied into the new bed substructure. The bed itself extends past the original crash bumper by about 18 inches."

The El Camaro is now ready for paint. You can see more photos of it at www.gmauthority.com.
