This week, Ford reports it has tallied 150,000 reservations for the all-new, all-electric full-size truck and if demand continues at this pace, Ford could be looking at a quarter-million of them on the road within two years.
“We knew the F-150 Lightning was special, but the interest from the public has surpassed our highest expectations and changed the conversation around electric vehicles,” said Bill Ford, executive chair, Ford Motor Company. “So we are doubling down, adding jobs, and investing to increase production. This truck and the Ford-UAW workers who are assembling it in Michigan have a chance to make history and lead the electric vehicle movement in America.”
Pre-production of the F-150 Lightning is taking place in Michigan. First production units and deliveries are scheduled for Spring 2022.
