Going deep into the archives to revive a revered nameplate, Jeep brings back the Wagoneer for 2022. Like its predecessor, Wagoneer is a large SUV. Passenger capacity is 7 or 8 depending on seating configuration and, despite its luxury trappings, It will be a true off-road capable vehicle. Competing against the Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Expedition, Nissan Armada and Toyota Sequoia, Wagoneer will be the largest vehicle in the Jeep lineup.
Sporting the same exterior dimensions, Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models will be offered. Wagoneer launches with a 392-horspower 5.7-liter V8. Grand Wagoneer gets a 6.4-liter V6 that produces 471 horsepower. Both engines mate to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Rear- and 4-wheel drive configurations will be offered. Buyers can choose between the single-speed Quadra-Trac I, low-range-equipped Quadra-Trac II and full-on Quadra-Drive II. Wagoneer will also feature Quadra-Lift air suspension and Selec-Terrain, which allows drivers to choose pre-programmed off-road modes.
