In the not-so-prehistoric past, Chevrolet produced a no-frills sedan delivery vehicle to get durable goods from seller to buyer. In the Tri-5 trifecta ('55 to '57), 10,639 of these 2-door sedan delivery Chevys rolled off of the factory line to answer the needs of America's businesses.

This extroverted example, listed by Ryno Classifieds seller Alf Peterson, is not for the quiet or shy types. Featuring House of Colour purple and magenta flames, a 468ci big-block Chevy with an 8-71 Dyers Street Charger running two 800cfm Holley Double Pumpers, a Turbo 400 transmission and a Dana 8 3/4-inch rear end, it is aptly described as a pro-street hot rod.

The builder and his checkbook must have been a welcome sight at his local speed shop as he added parts from a herd of big names in the aftermarket arena, including Air Ride, Hooker, Mallory, Mickey Thompson, and Weld, among others.

It even comes with a claim to fame: It was driven in the Woodward Cruise and Hot Rod Power Tour. This finned '57 is Ryno Classifieds Car of the Week.
