Timing is Everything! In January 2021 we began our competitive drag racing efforts using the Tesla EV platform. Racing both a 2015 Tesla model S 85D and a 2020 Tesla model 3 stealth performance we ran points in both Sportsman and No Box with IHRA at PBIR in S. Fla and other tracks. Both cars were highly competitive in the points including a 2021 Sportsman PBIR track championship. I, Jeff Anderson, drove the 2015 model S to the track championship as well as a 2019 model S to victory on the Pinks All Out Live television show in May/June 2021. Both were firsts for an electric vehicle (EV). Our other vehicle, the performance model 3 driven by Geoff Grafton, was an IHRA points event winner in NC at Roxboro Dragway. A very well respected track. The model 3 finished top ten in both classes at PBIR in 2021. We're working hard to improve and refine our approach, which includes a solid data set on these Tesla products. We've had positive outcomes against several big name racers and race programs. Both our vehicles made the IHRA World Finals in Memphis in 2021. Quite an honor for us both as drivers. Very exciting times. With a background in professional athletics, I very much enjoy the team approach as well as the competition aspect of drag racing. I used to pit crew for my uncle. I caught the bug to drive in 2007. Between 2007 and 2011 I had success making multiple national event finals with the NMCA organization (Nostalgia Muscle Car index class) and also scored a victory at the Mopar Southern Nationals in South GA. My family and I returned to drag racing with the EVs in January 2021. Geoff and I have enjoyed sharing information and accomplishing goals together. Both our families are involved as crew and support personnel. Look for us at a track near you!
