Osman Racing was formed in the 1970s by John Osman when he began his drag racing career. After several years, and many wins in his modified Ford Anglia and Funny Car, he was forced out of the sport due to a personal injury that would put an end to his racing career. In the early 1990s, Osman Racing ventured into the dirt track world with a Sprint Car. John’s son, Greg, began his racing career for Osman Racing in a Quarter Midget in 1997. After amassing over 50 feature wins in 5 years, the time arose for his Quarter Midget career to come to an end. September of 2005 would find a full fender car in the garage for the first time as Osman Racing began their 4-cylinder campaign. Jeremy Nichols would drive for Osman Racing for the remainder of 2005 and former ARCA series driver, Terry Pearson would drive the 4-cylinder car in 2006 to a 10th place finish in points at Lincoln Speedway. Osman Racing was absent from the scene in 2007 but came back in 2008 with a new car and a new class. Greg Osman was back behind the wheel of the UMP DIRTcar Stock Car and has remained so until this day. Greg would capture the DIRTcar Stock Car track Championship at Lincoln (IL) Speedway in 2013 after a year-long battle with several fierce competitors. It would come down to the final night but Osman Racing came out ahead by a mere 5 points. 2022 will mark Greg Osman's 25th year behind the wheel of an Osman Racing machine.
