1962 Tempest LeMans A/FX: A very authentic tribute to the car that was built by Mickey Thompson and Hayden Proffit that won the 1962 Winternationals and 1962 NHRA Nationals. Car was built in the early 1990s and features an authentic 421 Super Duty Pontiac V-8 built from parts obtained through Mickey Thompson in the 1960s. It features a correct 1962 block, 306 heads, McKellar #11 camshaft, 991 intake manifold and correct Carter AFB carbs. It also has a Borg-Warner T-85 3-speed manual with a DragFast 7000 floor shifter and a 1957 Pontiac rearend with 4.30 gears, Saf-T-Track and Summers Bros. axles. Car is street legal and is currently registered and insured. Car has been shown at the 2023 MCACN and won the Fred Simmonds Celebrity Pick and was also shown at the 2023 and 2024 Lake Mirror Concours, as well as the 2023 and 2024 Ames Performance Pontiac Nationals. Car is super fast, super clean, completely period-correct and would be perfect for a museum or private collection.
