I have a lot to say about this car that has been dear and near to my heart. I've had it since 2012. From 2012 to 2014 it was registered under my dad's name because I was too young to have a car to my name for insurance purposes. From 2014 to present it has beet in my name.

The following is technical data for the car:
-78 Lincoln Continental town car 4dr. No sunroof
-V8 400 Cubic inch, 6.6 Liter engine
-original paint, shines like new. Original upholstery with no flaws.
-original dash mats, original 8 track am/fm radio, everything works.
-vacuum driven heaedlights work
-It's been driven 3000 (three thousand) miles in the past 9 years. I've driven it all over the El Paso TX-Las Cruces NM-Juarez MX area with no problems
-Tires were bought around two years ago, less than a thousand miles on them.
-Desert car, no rust
-Clean New Mexico title.

In those nine years I've replaced some parts and made upgrades. Note that any work or upgrade done to this car has been done by myself, and only original/time correct parts have been used, I'm a stickler for stock originality:
- New AC compressor. Fully charged and blows colder than even some of the new cars. Charged with an R-12 substitute sold in Mexico, designed to outperform even the original R12 (Dupont MO-49).
There is no retrofit of any kind, the AC system is stock, as is the entire car.
-New carburetor
-New brake master cylinder and brake booster. This booster is the heavy duty type used for only the heaviest of cars up to this day.
-I had the transmission rebuilt. It didn't have transmission issues per se, but the front seal leaked a little, so I opted for the full rebuild as opposed to just re-sealing. My tranmission
guy said this transmission was in excellent shape overall (you can only tell the true shape of a transmission upon gutting it).
-Originally this car had the hub caps, I obtained the stock Lincoln rims and hub caps to give it that extra luxury look.
-Obtained stock coolant expansion tank, the car was missing it when I had it.
-I tinted the windows myself with 5% carbon tint. I've used this tint with daily drivers and from personal experience, the hot New Mexico sun doesn't fade the tint or make it turn purple
-Fixed Cruise Control with a New Old Stock cruise control unit.
-New Shocks (last replacenent happened sometime in the late 80s, old shocks were an old Kmart brand).
-New fuel pump and fuel filter.

The odometer reads around 10k miles. Based on what I've had to replace I would figure the odometer's rolled over at least once, putting the car at 110k miles. Based on my findings when I had the transmission rebuilt (see above) and the overall shape of the car, I highly doubt the odometer's rolled over twice. Thus, I claim this car has around 110k miles, but I have no way to prove it. Given the nature of the odometer of these cars, the fact that it's probably been registered a few times in its life, and Texas/New Mexico title odometer rules, the mileage is listed as 'exceeds mechanical limits.' However I do know for sure that from 2012 to now it's only been driven 3000 miles.

Some other highlights/the good: 8 track works, ac works, heater works, power windows should work though I rarely use them, power locks on 3 doors work, cruise control works, electric antenna works, in dash cartier clock works. Strong engine, very drivable, I haven't had major issues with it,
and it's never broken down on the road under my ownership.

As would be the case with any car old or new, and especially one that's 43 year old, this car isn't perfect, and I want to be very upfront about the minor issues the car has;
-Slight pinging upon heavy acceleration (can be fixed through tune up)
-must press gas pedal when turning the car off to prevent slight dieseling (can be fixed through tune up)
-a few minor dings here and there, not noticeable from afar.
-Driver's side front power lock is not working
-might need a wheel alignment
-side mirror levers don't control mirror positions well. Passenger side mirror stays in place and can be used well, driver's side mirror changes position sometimes.

Overall, taking all virtues and flaws into account, taking into account the age, the looks of the car despite age, the new parts and the drivability of the car, I ask for $12000 for this car and I'm firm on price. The car will treat you well, you won't find another one quite the same, and you will be the envy of everyone, strangers walk up to me all the time to ask me about my car when I'm on the road.
